Lotus Flower Season

26th December – 20th March
During summer the Blue Lotus Water Garden holds its spectacular and world-famous Lotus Flower Season where visitors will get to experience the most extensive collection and display of lotus flower varieties in Australia. Millions of lotus and waterlily flowers blossom across 14 acres of water gardens creating a kaleidoscope of colour in every direction. Highlights include Cochrane Lake, Lotus Lake and Lotus Wetlands. A special feature is our exhibit of Giant Amazon Waterlilies which produce huge leaves (lily pads), some as big as a dinner table.

Autumn Flower Season

March 21st – April 19th
During autumn the gardens display slowly changes as the days get shorter and cooler. Millions of colourful begonias, impatiens, petunias, salvias and sunflowers burst into blossom producing a stunning visual experience. A real feature this time of year is Australia’s largest hanging garden with over 300 hanging baskets erected across the 14 acres of grounds, full of beautiful begonias and petunias.
Our waterlily flowers continue to produce beautiful blooms in our lake and greenhouse exhibits including the amazing Giant Amazon Waterlily. The stunning “summer flowering” lotus flowers do  start to reduce in number as autumn progresses. Their huge leaves slowly change colour, just like deciduous trees, creating their own unique display.
